Description
Oaking here was 20% in older French 225 litre barriques, giving a savoury dusting to the dark berry and plum fruit. But there's a lot more going on; a gentle herbaceous top note, even a hint of vanilla. The succulent palate is smoothly rounded, carrying the berry fruit to a satisfyingly luscious conclusion. Has good palate weight, round and full. A wine of character and enjoyment yet there's just enough grip for some ageing or to match with food.
